Namikawa Yasuyuki was one of the leading cloisonné artists of the Meiji period and stands as a preeminent figure in the history of Japanese craftsmanship. Over the course of his career, he received prizes at more than fifty international and national exhibitions.
Through a serene aesthetic refined to the utmost degree, his works have continued to command an unwavering reputation to this day. Recognized as the supreme master of wired cloisonné (yūsen-shippō), the perfection achieved through his intricate cloisons and richly polychromed enamels stands without parallel.
Appointed Imperial Household Artist (Teishitsu Gigeiin) alongside Namikawa Sōsuke, his name remains internationally celebrated.
